Daredevil Noir (2009) # 1-4, Luke Cage Noir (2009) # 1-4, Iron Man Noir (2010) # 1-4, Spider-Man Noir (2009) # 1-4, Spider-Man Noir: Eyes Without a Face (2010) # 1-4, Punisher Noir (2009) # 1-4, Wolverine Noir (2009) # 1-4

(I originally read these comics between late August/early September 2015)

I took a while getting through these. They're similar to DCs 'Elseworlds' tales except all of the stories recast the title characters in pre-WW2 times, with no powers. Familiar faces crop up, but are given twists. The two Spider-Man series and the Luke Cage one are the best. Daredevil has inhabited a noirish milieu since Frank Miller, so the tag is redundant here. Also, the Iron Man series is barely noir at all, but has more in common with Indiana Jones/Jules Verne. 'Pulp,' yes, 'noir,' no. There were also two 'X-Men Noir' series but given the unfavourable reviews and the fact I'm not an X-Men completist I saw fit to skip those.

In the event this 'review' seems sparse, it's because I read this grouping of comics before I made a habit of writing reviews. I've no doubt I'll visit them at some point, though.
